Enhancing Nonprofit Boardroom Collaboration with Virtual Data Rooms

Although AI is often used interchangeably with automation, the two concepts are quite different. While automation focuses on reducing the taxing workload of specific tasks, artificial intelligence is more focused on changing and optimizing work to maximize results.

The tools are different in terms of their functionality and the way they accomplish it. Automation makes use of simple rules to complete tasks such as moving emails into designated files according to certain guidelines (or using Excel formulas). This is usually done with preprogrammed software and is commonly used in business processes like executing test scripts or producing reports.

AI technologies however, employ sophisticated neuron-like pathways to connect and learn from data points in a way similar to humans. Think of Boston Dynamics’ robot Spot that takes in the information it receives from its environment and continuously optimizes itself. This is what sets it apart from traditional automation – and why its impact on the workforce will likely to be more disruptive in the end.

In addition to allowing businesses to work more efficiently and accurately, AI can also help reduce human errors. Its ability to detect patterns, optimize itself and automate repetitive and mundane tasks allows it the ability to handle the repetitive and tedious tasks that employees are not trained for. This allows them to concentrate on strategic and value-added tasks. This is the reason for the dramatic productivity improvements seen in multifamily leasing today and more time focused on the most important tasks and better customer experiences.
